Emotional intelligence and organisational commitment of Lecturers at Kyambogo University

The study examined the casual link between emotional intelligence and organisational commitment of lecturers at Kyambogo University. Specifically, four competencies self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management with full-time three-component model by Allen Meyer, which describes it in terms affective, normative, continuance commitment, was used to assess concept. Using correlational research design, adopted quantitative approach. participants were 175 selected university. data collected using a self-administered questionnaire. Structural equation modelling (SEM) SmartPLS analyse data. findings indicated that while self-management awareness significant determinants lecturers, self-awareness positive but insignificant commitment. concluded are essential for not. Therefore, recommended promote university managers should take cognisance lecturers' more than self-awareness.
